How to read the result

Airports publish an official minimum connection time (MCT) for each kind of transfer, and airlines won't sell a single ticket below it. The comfort thresholds used here are general rules of thumb, not the official MCT for your airport, which can be shorter or longer.

On separate tickets the second airline doesn't have to rebook you if the first flight is late, and you may need to collect bags and check in again. That's why self-transfers need much more buffer. If you leave the airport during a long layover, check whether you need a visa or travel authorization for that country.
